IDEA' S BORN
Everything started at my barber's shop, where I was waiting for my turn. So I had the chance to read for th first time GQ magazine. I so much appreciated this magazine that as soon as I was back home I immediately took out a subscrition.
On the February issue they published an article with the title "Marathon Man's advice", about the achievements of Dean Karnazes.
Who is Dean Karnazes?
Exactly on years ago, at the end of New York Marathon, the American Dean Karnazes (named by the prestigious magazine Men Fitness "The fittest man in the world") established an incredible record of resistance running, performing fifty marathons in fifty consecutive days. The news went round the world, thus consecrating Dean, who makes of running activity the support for himself and his own family, as "The Marathon Man".
After reading the article, most of readers could have thought: "This man is crazy as wild horse", bu I thought:
"If he made fifty then I will mahe fifty-one". Honestly speaking, at first I believed this thought would have gone away as fast it came. Instead, unexpectedly, that thought started obsessing me, so that in the same month of February I began training myself to undertake the attempt.
After one years from the performance, then, an Italian will try to wring the qualification from the American, trying to perform fifty-one marathon in fifty-one consecutive days. The peculiarity of this event, apart from the performance itself, is the fact the challenger of " the fittest man in the world" is not an athlete as much young and as much fit; someone who made of running his how activity, but a 48 years old entrepreneur from Turin, who is undertaking the attempt without suspending his own activity, but simply taking a two hour permission daily from his own working engagement.
A very particular challenge, then that sees on one side "the most fittest men in the world" worthily represented by Karnazes' record and on the other side "the standard men", represented by Enzo Caporaso from Turin.
How will it end up?
The appoiment for answer is on April 13th
